Shortly before midnight, the police received an alarm that a moped had driven off the road between Blentarp and Sövde southeast of Sjöbo, the police write on their website.
A 55-year-old man was taken by ambulance to the hospital in Lund. The man later died in hospital. Relatives have been notified.
No crime is suspected. The accident may have been due to an illness.
