An SJ train collided with a moose outside Falköping on Saturday evening.
Then passengers had to help pull off a part of the front that had come loose.
– There was blood and meat sludge, says Edward Källström.
Just before 5pm on Saturday, an SJ train collided with a moose outside Falköping.
Edward Källström, 28, was on the train that was on its way from Gothenburg to Stockholm.
– I’m on my way home from a midsummer celebration and sat and watched a movie. Then came a loud bang that you both heard and felt, he says.
– It didn’t come to a stop but it started to shake a lot.
The train driver announced after the bang that they had collided with an animal, but the train was able to continue into Falköping.
– Once we stopped in Falköping, we were informed that it was a moose that we had collided with, says Edward Källström.

The train needed to be checked after the explosion and the loudspeakers asked for assistance from passengers.
– They asked if there were any strong men on board, says Edward Källström.
Along with a few other men, he walked up to the motorcar. One of them had to help pull off a damaged part of the front.
– There was blood and meat sludge, says Edward Källström.
After a stop of about half an hour, the train was able to move on, again. However, the passengers had to change trains in Västerås where the motorcar is to be repaired.
