It is not the first time that there are construction fences around the lock complex between the Utrecht neighborhoods Lombok and Eye in Al. For years they stood along the quay because it became too dangerous. The foundation was partly perished, but that has since been refurbished. Since 2021 there are no more gates. The heads are closed at night, to prevent nuisance.
