Montreal, who broke the losing streak, passed the well-tempered Finnish keeper as the goalkeeper | Sports in a nutshell

The Montreal Canadiens ended their six-game losing streak in the NHL.

Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki scored two goals to a man as Montreal beat Buffalo Sabres, who had won the previous three games, 7–5.

Buffalo Sabers goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen was rated as the third best player of last week, i.e. three stars, but the new week started more sticky and the 25-year-old Finn had to be replaced at the end of the second period.

In the opening set, Luukkonen, who played Buffalo’s 1-1 equalizer, blocked 14 pucks with 77.8 percent in the losing game and was responsible for less than 40 minutes. Sabres’ second goaltender Devon Levi let two of the four strokes that came towards him go behind his back.

Buffalo coach Lindy Ruff said after the game that Luukkosen had a “little trouble” that happened in training yesterday. The coach thought it affected his game, which is why he pulled the Finn out of the game after two sets.

Also the goalkeeper who started between the posts for Montreal Cayden Primeau had to work as a gatekeeper in the middle of the game.

Joel Armia first had an assist to tie the Canadiens 5-5, but was later removed from the stats. Armia played more than 17 minutes in the match and registered +1 in the power statistics.

Juraj Slafkovsky you credited Montreal with three assists.
