Since the mega success of Squid Game, Netflix has been investing heavily in exciting genre material from South Korea. One of these is the horror series Gyeongseong Creature, which landed in the Netflix top 10 in 69 countries worldwide immediately after its premiere last December.
Now the monster fest will continue with season 2 in just a few weeks, as the first teaser trailer reveals. The one that promises fans visually stunning action, scary horror creatures and a time jump of 79 years.
Netflix’s Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 restarts the monster horror in 2024
The first season of Gyeongseong Creature took us back to Korea in 1945 at the time of the occupation by the Japanese military and dealt with dark conspiracies surrounding Human experiments and monstrous creatures. And those who stuck with the show until the end of the ten episodes were left with one of the biggest cliffhangers in the series’ history.

As the trailer for the upcoming second season reveals, the plot will no longer be set in the past, but a huge leap in time to 2024 Here, Chae-ok (So-hee Han), the unaged survivor of the Gyeongseong events from Season 1, meets a person who looks exactly like her former comrade Jang Tae-sang (Park Seo-joon).

When does Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 start on Netflix?
The first season of the horror series only ended in January 2024 on Netflix. It is all the more surprising that the wait for new episodes is unexpectedly short and series fans do not have to wait two years for a sequel. Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 starts on 27 September 2024.
