Monster hunters launch biggest Loch Ness hunt – in 50 years

The biggest hunt for the ‘Loch Ness monster’ in 50 years has been announced. A Loch Ness center in Scotland has teamed up with a group of volunteer monster hunters who are ready to begin the search on August 26 and 27.

New technology in the form of drones with thermal cameras, as well as hydrophones that can pick up sounds underwater are prepared to capture evidence of the beast’s existence.

The monster has appeared in numerous films and television series, but the myth of the beast dates back to the Middle Ages, when the Irish monk Columba’s biography from 565 AD claimed to have met the beast.

Over 1,000 people have claimed to have seen ‘Nessie’ and the area in the Scottish Highlands has long been a popular tourist attraction. The new monster hunt is also calling for volunteers who can participate in the search from safe locations on land.

– We hope to inspire a new generation of Loch Ness enthusiasts, said Alan McKenna, from Loch Ness exploration BBCIn 2019, the myth of the beast was revived, as researchers claimed that the recurring reports could refer to enormous eels.
