    The product covered by the recall would have a labeling anomaly: the expiry date appearing on the product would be incorrect.

    If you had planned to taste a salmon tartare tonight, better change the menu. That of the Monoprix Gourmet brand is now withdrawn from sale.

    What is the affected product?

    This is a raw salmon tartare marinated in dill and lemon from the Monoprix Gourmet brand. Marketed throughout France, it includes the following information:

    • Product Category: Food;
    • Product subcategory: Fishery and aquaculture products;
    • Brand: Monoprix Gourmet;
    • Reference: Raw salmon tartare marinated in dill and lemon (100g);
    • Packaging: Bowl under modified atmosphere of 100g;
    • Health mark: FR 43.074.001 CE
    • Marketing start date: 08/22/2022
    • End of marketing date: 08/26/2022
    • GTIN: 3350030198312;
    • Batch: F2280351;
    • Use-by date: 11/11/2022

    This tartare has an incorrect use-by date (DLC): 11/11/2022 instead of 04/09/2022.

    In this context, the brand invites all consumers concerned to destroy the product purchased or to return it to the point of sale to obtain a refund before the end date of the recall. That is, at the latest, Friday, September 9, 2022.

    Erroneous DLC: what are the health risks?

    The DLC is a date appearing on microbiologically perishable foodstuffs, and which, therefore, present an immediate danger to health.

    This is why the DLC of certain foods – such as meat, fish, raw milk cheese or fresh eggs – deserves to be respected. Beyond this date, the product is expired and not consumable: it can lead to infections or food poisoning (listeria, staphylococci aureus, etc.).

    The DLC should not be confused with the DDM (date of minimum durability, to be consumed preferably before the end …), which is a limit beyond which the product has not expired: it is safe but may have lost some of its qualities (flavor, texture).

    Good to know : some foods never expire and can be eaten after DDM (sugar, salt, flour, vinegar, pulses, cereals, etc.).
