The Directorate General of Health confirmed this Friday a first case of monkey pox in Île-de-France. This is a 29-year-old man who has no history of travel to West Africa, the region where this disease usually circulates. Monkeypox is a rare disease that originated in Africa. It can be transmitted by direct contact with skin lesions or mucous membranes of a sick person, as well as by droplets.
