Elvira Öberg took the World Cup silver in Lenzerheide

In 2024 there were no individual medals for Swedish, it was a change in 2025.

It was in the hunting start that Öberg managed to clinch the silver medal behind the German Franzian Pruss And in front of the French Justine Braisaz-Bouchet. Öberg was as expected satisfied, as she expresses in an interview with Aftonbladet.

– I’m pretty calm and know what I want to focus on. I think I do a good job and neglect nowhere. Then it’s a shame I can’t shoot full, but in the end it doesn’t matter that much.

She was asked how safe she was that it would be silver.

– I still felt pretty safe. She went aside a turn on the sprint lap and I just “well, this is your job to do”. I knew I would take her if I hung with her up the slopes.

In conclusion, she came up with how nice it was to take home the career’s first individual medal at a World Cup.

– I think I have been one of the world’s best biathlons for several years now, but I still have not succeeded in the World Cup, for a few different reasons. Obviously it means a lot. Then it will also be quite nice to avoid everything nagging around it too.
