For their third meeting, AS Monaco is still undefeated in C1 thanks to its large 5-1 victory against Red Star Belgrade on Tuesday October 22 at home, during the third day of the league phase. Against PSV Eindhoven, at the Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain did no better than a draw (1-1).

Still deprived of Folarin Balogun, Monaco was able to count on its other offensive players: Takumi Minamino, author of a double (20th, 70th), Breel Embolo, scorer for the first time this season (45th + 4) and Maghnes Akliouche ( 90th+6). But the best goal came from a defender, Wilfried Singowho placed a long shot into the top corner (54th). Aleksandr Golovin could also have been there, but he saw his splendid shot hit the post (72e). The Serbs scored from the penalty spot by Cherif Ndiaye (27th). The Monegasques brought down FC Barcelona (2-1) in the opening before snatching a draw in Zagreb against Dinamo (2-2).
This large victory allows Monaco to have seven points in the competition. However, this very good start does not yet bode well for a future qualification. The Monegasques must, in fact, be able to glean points in Bologna, on November 5 during the 4th day. Subsequently, the last four days will be complicated, with the receptions of Benfica Lisbon and Aston Villa, as well as trips to London and Milan, against Arsenal and Inter. Building on their eleventh unbeaten match of the season (8 in L1, 3 in C1), the Monegasques can now focus on their trip to Nice on Sunday, for a new derby.
PSG held in check by PSV
Paris Saint-Germain confirmed its difficulties in the Champions League by conceding a 1-1 home draw against PSV Eindhoven. Noa Lang cooled the Parc des Princes by opening the score (34th) after Ousmane Dembélé lost the ball, but Achraf Hakimi put the two teams back on level terms with a powerful strike (55th). At the end of the match, a save from Walter Benitez on a header from Marquinhos saved PSV (90+6). The Parisians have only one victory, snatched down to the wire against Girona (1-0) at home in the opener, which was followed by a defeat at Arsenal (2-0). Paris has only four points, and is in a disappointing provisional 17th place. The next matches against two big European teams, Atlético Madrid and Bayern Munich, promise to be as perilous as they are decisive for entering the top 8 and hoping for direct qualification for the round of 16.
AC Milan secures its first victory against Club Bruges
AC Milan, despite a disastrous first half hour and an opponent quickly reduced to ten, achieved its first success of the season in the Champions League without shining, against Club Bruges, beaten 3 to 1. After setbacks at home against Liverpool (3-1) and Leverkusen (1-0), the Milanese are back in the race for the round of 16 of the C1. The first Milan goal was scored by Christian Pulisic from a direct corner in the 34th minute. Returning from the locker room, Bruges equalized with a superb combination in the penalty area between Hugo Vetlesen and Kyriani Sabbe, who had barely entered the game (51st, 1-1). In the area, Reijnders deceived the Bruges goalkeeper at close range (61st, 2-1). The Dutch midfielder increased the score in the 71st minute with a cross from the right from Nigerian international Samuel Chukwueze (3-1).
Real overthrow Dortmund
Thanks to a hat-trick from Vinicius, Real Madrid regained victory (5-2) against Dortmund, after their unexpected defeat in Lille on the second day. The reigning champions conceded two goals in the first half, first from a strike from Donyell Malen (30th) then a second from Jamie Bynoe-Gittens (34th). The Madrilenians opened their score with a header from Antonio Rüdiger (60th) to then equalize a few moments later with a goal from Vinicius Junior (62nd). They definitely reversed the trend thanks to Lucas Vazquez (83rd) then two magnificent strikes from Vinicius (86th, 90th + 3) for the hat-trick.
