Mona Brorsson’s words about what it’s like to work with Björn Ferry

When Mona Brorsson was recruited to SVT as a biathlon expert for the season, Björn Ferry had already worked there for ten years.
Now she reveals that she was a little nervous about meeting him in the new workplace.
– I didn’t know him at all and haven’t really had much to do with him during my career, she tells the Sports Bible.

A couple of weeks before last year’s season was over the biathlon announced Mona Brorsson34, that she intended to put the rifle and skis on the shelf. Her main merit as a rider is her Olympic gold in relay from Beijing 2022 as well as the silver medals from the Olympics (2018) and the World Cup (2019), also those in relay.

When the former biathlon Helena Ekholm40, chose to give up his role as an expert in SVT’s winter studio after six years, it was for many obvious that Mona would take over. She describes herself how the channel contacted her early on and asked if she was craving.
– It feels like SVT almost had no choice because there were so many from the outside who pressed. So I got the question and it was pretty easy to say yes. They then said: “It is clear that we will try this”. I was down one day and did a test broadcast along with Ola Bränholm. So we tried to comment and got to sit with Yvette Hermundstad in the studio and “play” Winter Studio. I didn’t completely do away with it because I had to come back, she tells the Sports Bible.

Another former Olympic hero who also feeds himself as a biathlon expert in the Winter Studio is Björn Ferry46. He has more or less worked for SVT since he ended his career in 2014. For many he is the face out for the winter studio, possibly together with André PopsThe Jacob Hård and Anders Blomquist. Now Mona Brorsson tells us what it was like to start working with him.
– Yes, so surprisingly good really. I don’t know Björn before. He ended in 2014 and I did my first World Cup season in 2013. But at that time the men’s team and the women’s team were separated. But I had to go some competitions where he was there, but then I did not know him at all and have not really had much to do with him during my career, she says.

Ferry can sometimes be perceived as quite determined, honest and straight – and is not afraid to criticize when needed – but always with the twinkle in the eye. He is a very respected and popular person. Therefore, Mona Brorsson was still a little excited for the first meeting.

– Maybe I was a little nervous about: “How is this going to go? How is he? ”. But it feels like we complement each other very well. Because you do not want me to come in and be exactly the same. Or that it would not work. That you have no type of personal chemistry at all. But I really think it has worked the top, that we have been able to complement each other and had very interesting discussions and got a great flow in the talk. So it has been fun and very grateful too, because he is very helpful too. Come on tips and advice and tried to make me feel welcome, Mona tells the Sports Bible.
