Mona Brorsson is nearing the end of her career.
But this weekend she got to celebrate yet another podium at the World Cup.
“Thank you, it was so cool,” she writes on Instagram.
She has been around since 2015 and has always been a reliable teammate. But soon the time will come Mona Brorsson to say goodbye to biathlon for good.
Brorsson’s farewell
Earlier this year, the 33-year-old announced that his sports career will end after the current season, and now Brorsson is approaching the very last World Cup weekend in his life. During the weekend, the Swedish veteran was with the national biathlon team in American Soldier Hollow for the next last competition weekend before the season is over.

Then she got to celebrate another podium place at the World Cup. When Mona helped Sweden to third place in the women’s relay on Saturday evening.
Mona’s confession
But in Sunday’s hunting start, Mona Brorsson never even showed up, explaining why with a strong confession after the weekend’s competitions.
“Thanks for me Soldier Hollow! It was so cool to step on the podium for the very last time with the team, in the relay, in front of a fantastic audience,” she writes in a post on Instagram.
“But the time change, the high altitude and the discharges of the last two days have worn down the immune system. I therefore cannot run the chase start without at the same time risking next week’s competitions. So I’m banking on recovery now and hope to be back at full strength for the finish next week!”

Brorsson is a real favorite with many Swedes and everyone loves her caring personality and always keeping her spirits up by supporting teammates. Now she is being showered with good wishes for the end of her biathlon career.
