Mona Brorsson’s new words about Elvira Öberg who is not in shape

Elvira Öberg had a tough weekend in Annecy.
SVT expert Mona Brorsson says that the biathlete is not himself right now.
– There is absolutely something missing in the skating today, she says in the broadcast.

It was not a successful trip for the Swedish national biathlon team to Annecy in France. Apart from Sebastian Samuelsson’s third place in Thursday’s sprint, there was no blue-yellow top place during the weekend.

Tough for the biathlon ladies

During Sunday’s 12.5 km mass start, it certainly started promisingly for both Anna Magnusson and Sarah Anderssonthey opened with two flawless prone shooters. In addition, they were involved purely in terms of driving. But in the third shooting they missed two shots each and the dreams of podium places went up in smoke.

Even the big star Elvira Öberg25, had a boring Sunday. After a 32nd place in the sprint and a sixth place in the 10 km pursuit start, she had a chance for revenge – but it didn’t go at all as she hoped. She started with two misses in the first shot and missed a total of four shots. She wasn’t convincing in the track either.

Skiing itself is otherwise Elvira Öberg’s signature. When even her strengths were not in place, she found it very difficult to deliver at the top in France. Her former teammate got it Mona Brorssonnow an expert in SVT’s Vinterstudion, to feel great concern for Elvira.
– She is not like herself. She can’t follow Lampic (Anamarija) but actually lost almost 15 seconds. There is absolutely something missing in the skating today, she says in the broadcast.

Despite the fact that things did not go as planned for Öberg in the mass start, she came ninth and became the best Swede. Sara Andersson turned eleven, Ella Halvarsson came in 15th place and Anna Magnusson finished as the 28th best skater.

Sad that it went so badly for the Swedish biathletes in Annecy this weekend. We have to hope and keep our fingers crossed that things will get better in the future. Hey hey!
