Mona Brorsson’s embarrassing recognition after career

Mona Brorsson has made her first season as an expert in SVT’s winter studio.
But the TV job has come at the expense of something else.

– It’s a bit sad, she tells Värmlands Folkblad.

After last season chose the biathlon Mona Brorsson35, to put the rifle on the shelf. She had then participated in and won an Olympic gold in Beijing, as well as taken an Olympic silver and a World Cup silver. All medals were in relay.

Just a few months after she retired as an elite athlete, she stepped into her new workplace: Sweden’s Television. She replaced the biathlon expert Helena Ekholm In the Winter Studio and she has done an exemplary during her first season in the box. It was recently confirmed that she will continue next year.

In an interview with Värmlands Folkblad, she says that she enjoys her new life in Stockholm. She and her partner Gustav Larsson31, moved from Östersund this summer, mainly because he got a new job in the capital. But she is also very pleased with her decision to end her career.
– I haven’t regretted a single day. It was time. I love to compete and to be in shape but the job to get there … it was too tough. Then it was time to do something else, she tells the newspaper.

Mona Brorsson’s recognition of new life

Sometimes, on the other hand, she can miss life as a biathlon. Especially when the snow starts to fall, which it rarely does in Stockholm.
– I have also been in a different environment because I have moved to Stockholm. There is no snow here. When I was up in Östersund during the junior World Cup, some emotions came again. Then I got a little craving to pull a series on the shooting room, she says.

Then she comes with a really unexpected, and quite embarrassing, recognition about her new life after her career. She is forced to admit that she only went skiing once this winter. Something that shocks many.
– It’s a little sad for skiing is fantastic. It has become more skates and running for me, she says.
