The SVT expert Bjorn Ferry described Stina’s short biathlon career as “a big failure”. Now beats Mona Brorssonformer biathlete and new TV expert at SVT, back against that criticism.
Brorsson instead wants to pay tribute to Stina Nilsson.
– I think she should be proud. What she has done is so incredibly brave and she shows the way for several people who are curious to try biathlon. She also shows the complexity of the sport and how difficult it is to take on, says Mona in an interview with SVT.
During Wednesday, it became clear that Brorsson, who ended his career last spring, is stepping into the “Winter studio” as a new biathlon expert. Now she gives the truth about why Stina Nilsson didn’t go faster as a biathlete.
– She never rode badly. I think that’s a pretty big misunderstanding. Without that, it is always necessary to balance shooting and riding, and you have to make your own assessment of that. Since then, I think that the riding level has generally been raised in biathlon, which means that you might have expected her to be so much better than the rest, but maybe it was that the rest had risen, says Mona to the television channel.

– You have already seen a taste of what she has to offer in long-distance running. That will suit her superbly, says Mona in the interview.
