Mona Brorsson ended her career this spring.
Now she is awarded a very prestigious award.
The 34-year-old has been named “Biathlete of the Year”.
She has been one of the most popular skiers in Swedish biathlon. Mona Brorsson has always been hailed as the perfect teammate and was a real favorite with his lovely personality.
But after a long career, the 34-year-old made the decision this spring to put the skis and rifle on the famous shelf. After winning Olympic gold and Olympic silver, as well as World Cup silver and three European Championship golds, Brorsson has given thanks.

The Swedish veteran really had to finish with the flag on top when, in the last season of her career, she also delivered the very best individual result. Mona had a great race during the World Cup competitions in Ruhpolding and took a very impressive second place in the sprint race.
Mona gets a nice price
Now Mona Brorsson is also awarded a prestigious award as “Biathlete of the Year” for the 2023-24 season. A very worthy winner who has been appointed by the Swedish Biathlon Union.
“A biathlete must be focused all the way to the finish line, the Biathlete of the Year is a good example of that. After relay silver at the Olympics and a large number of podium places in relays at the World Cup, the biathlon career’s final season ended with the flag at the top. Individually, with the best placing ever in the overall World Cup and with his best result with a second place in Ruhpolding”, reads the justification.

She will remember that second place in Ruhpolding forever, above all the enormous appreciation and praise she received from the Swedish people.
— So they were completely overwhelming. I haven’t read everything yet. There were well over 1,000 interactions and comments on social media. People have sent emails and text messages. It’s so awesome. It is usually said that what others say should not affect you, but in this case I am prepared to make an exception, haha, Brorsson said then.
— I am so very grateful that people care so much about how I am doing. But I think it may be because it was a long journey for me. I have struggled and I have tried to be honest in my interviews about how I experienced it. Then I think that many people think that it was about time that I was allowed to succeed.
