Mona Brorsson and her partner Gustav Larsson do not want to have children

Many sportswomen who end their careers do so for the reason that they want to start a family.
That is not the case for Mona Brorsson and her partner Gustav Larsson.
– It has never been something that we planned for, or thought that when we quit, we would have children, she tells Expressen.

It has almost been two months Mona Brorsson34, debuted as a TV expert in SVT’s Vinterstudion. This after twelve years as a biathlete at the absolute highest level. She has an Olympic gold, an Olympic silver, a WC silver and two individual podium places at the World Cup on her track record.

It didn’t take Brorsson long at all to go from active elite athlete to biathlon expert. She replaced Helena Ekholm in the Winter studio and has done it with flying colors so far. The Värmland native has basically only received praise from the viewers.
– I’m actually quite shocked because it’s really not obvious. And I knew that there were concerns about taking me in. Just because you have been good at your sport does not necessarily mean that you are good at talking on TV, or that what I say is relevant. You are incredibly judged in the media, she says in an interview with Expressen.

Unlike many of her former colleagues and friends who ended their sports careers to devote themselves to family life, Mona has no plans to have children. She and her partner Gustav Larsson31, former fencer for the national biathlon team, has recently moved to Stockholm and wants to focus on other things in life.

Mona dreams of a wedding – but not children

Now she talks about the reason why the two do not want to have children. Instead, there seems to be a cat in the household.
– Neither Gustav nor I are particularly fond of children. It has never been something that we planned for, or thought that when we quit, we would have children. Nothing like that, it’s not in the pipe. We’re living the life, really. We’ll see how long we stay (eds. note in Stockholm), maybe forever. We have nothing holding us back. Maybe we’re a little selfish that way too. We enjoy being two, she says.

Although children are not a dream for the couple, Mona hopes they will get married in the future. It doesn’t seem to be relevant yet.
– Yes, but I’m missing a ring. But yes, I think so… Or I hope we are the ones who think so. But there is still nothing on the finger anyway, she says.

What a brilliant start you have had as a TV expert in SVT’s Winter Studio. Keep being the lovely, happy and wise person that you are, Mona. All of Sweden loves you!
