It’s a new TikTok trend that brings good humor to families. The #momdancechallenge is a challenge that encourages children to ask their mothers – and their fathers too, if they wish – to dance to a song from the 1980s. Both good-natured and quite funny, sometimes!

The new TikTok trend challenges families! The hashtag #momdancechallenge invites children to challenge their parents: put on a song from the 80s and get them to dance to it.

    A funny and light challenge

Challenges launched on social networks and in particular on the TikTok platform are usually not very benevolent and sometimes even dangerous for those who engage in them, like most recently the One Chip challenge.

Here, good humor and smiles are guaranteed: children (or rather teenagers) must put on the song “Smalltown Boy” by the British pop group Bronski Beat, dating from 1984, and ask their parents to dance. Fifty-year-olds know the song well and have no difficulty remembering the dance steps from their youth!

Millions of views on social networks

This challenge then produces nice videos, where we see the parents swaying to the rhythm of the music! And inevitably, Internet users are sensitive to it. Moreover, some already have millions of views.

Tabatha Lynn’s video, which films her mother Leanne, has almost ten million views. Even actress Jennifer Garner got in on the action by performing from her bathroom. A challenge to submit to all parents, to laugh and have a good time with the family!
