The reason is “financial, administrative and artistic challenges,” according to a statement from TRM director Corneliu Durnescu.
It is about a declining interest from television viewers and simply that the quality of this year’s range of songs and artists is too low.
Last year, Moldova was represented by Natalia Barbu with the song “In the middle”. She went out in the semi-finals.
This year’s competition takes place in Basel, Switzerland, May 13–17.
