It is Gnosjö municipality that has managed the premises since 2021 and leases them to the health centre. That there was moisture and mold damage in parts of the premises has been known for a long time, according to the Work Environment Agency, which has inspected the indoor climate in the buildings.
Fatigue and cough
Staff have experienced symptoms from staying in the premises, including headaches, nasal congestion, cough and fatigue. After several employees were examined by doctors, they were advised to avoid staying in the parts of the premises where they experience discomfort.
Several employees also reportedly resigned because they could not be at the workplace.
Risk fine
According to the Work Environment Agency, the premises have been renovated several times, but the problems remain. Gnosjö municipality can now be prohibited from letting the premises to the health center – and now risks a fine of SEK 250,000 – if the moisture and mold damage is not remedied by August 30 at the latest.
According to the municipality, there is a renovation plan for the premises that began in January and should be completed in June.
