Almost no one thinks about cleaning this place in the bathroom. However, mold often develops on it.
Mold is the worst enemy in our bathroom. It gets everywhere, even in the most unexpected places! Not only is mold a horror to clean from walls, ceilings, joints, etc., but it can also pose health risks if not treated quickly.
In the bathroom, it is especially visible on tile grouts and silicone sealants, but it can also hide in hard-to-reach areas or places you may have never considered before. In the bathroom, objects that you use every day are conducive to the development of mold.
This is the case, for example, of bottles of shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, generally placed on the edge of your bathtub, or in soap dishes suspended in your shower. Mold settles in there discreetly and quickly. The reason is simple, these bottles accumulate water at their base when they are placed, but also soap residue, creating a place conducive to the proliferation of mold. You just have to look under your bottles, you may be a victim. This is easily seen, you will see black marks under your bottles.
To avoid this common problem, it’s very easy. Simply wipe the bottles after each use, as well as the rim of the bathtub and the soap dish to remove all water and dirt. For the soap dish, use a sponge and white vinegar once a week at the same time as you clean your shower.
Other areas of the bathroom should also be monitored. This is the case with shower flowers. It is very common for mold to develop quickly because they are damp all the time, and soap residue becomes encrusted. To avoid this, rinse shower flowers thoroughly after each use and do not leave them in the shower. Hang them in a dry, well-ventilated place. Every 4 or 5 days, put them in the washing machine. Also remember to replace them approximately every three weeks.
Finally, the toothbrush holder can also become a victim of mold if you do not clean it every week. Remember to clean it during your weekly cleaning with an old toothbrush and a little white vinegar. These small daily or weekly actions won’t take up much time and will help you maintain a clean bathroom free of hidden mold.
