Mohg Location – How to find and defeat the mighty Blood Lord

In Elden Ring you have to earn your way to the DLC “Shadow of the Erdtree”. One of the bosses is called Mohg. You can find out where his location is and how you can easily defeat him here.

Where can I find Mohg? To find Mohg, the Bloodlord and gain access to the DLC “Shadow of the Erdtree”, you must visit the Mausoleum of the Mohgwyn Dynasty in the underground Siofra. There are two ways to get to this place:

  • You complete the quest from Varré the Field Surgeon until he gives you the item “Medal of the Pureblood Knight”.
  • Use the item to teleport yourself to the Bloodlord’s territory.
  • Search for a bloody portal in the Hallowed Snowfield northeast of the ruins of Yelough Anix.
  • Defeat the Blood Eagle that is stalking you as an intruder and activate the portal.
  • Now you have to get through the bloody lake to the mausoleum. Many enemies, including blood nobles and corpses, are waiting to tear you to pieces.

Once you’ve made it through and made it to the top, all you have to do is take the last elevator to get to the wall of fog that separates you from Mohg.

Mohg is not an easy boss, but we will now show you two strategies on how to defeat him easily.

    Bleeding with Dark Cavalry Glaive

How does the tactic work? Although Mohg becomes ecstatic when he makes living creatures bleed, he is very susceptible to bleeding himself. You will need the following items for the fight:

  • Glaive of the Dark Cavalry
  • Location: You can find it near the “Church of Bellum” northeast of the Academy of Raya Lucaria
  • War Ashes: Whirlwind Blows
  • Location: Defeat Edgar in Castle Morne or at the Avenger’s Hut southwest of Raya Lucaria. Extract the Ash of War from the halberd you got from Edgar
  • Blood fat
  • Location: Can be made if you have the manual [6] of the nomadic warrior. The book is found on a corpse at Fort Haight, on the eastern edge of Limgrave
  • Shard of Alexander (Talisman)
  • Location: Complete Alexander’s quest
  • Carian Filigree Crest (Talisman)
  • Location: Can be purchased from Iji the Blacksmith
  • Mohg’s Chain (Consumable)
  • Location: Is guarded by two giant lobsters in the sewers in Leyndell. Use the Place of Mercy “Underground Road”
  • The following things are also useful:
  • Flame, give me strength! (invocation)
  • Cooked crab (consumable)
  • It’s best to find two other players who can help you and distract Mohg or use the spirit ash “Imitator’s Tear”. Now go to Mohg and use his chain. This item will temporarily pin him to the ground.

Now use your blood-smeared glaive and activate your whirling blows. Mohg should then lose life points so quickly that he performs his blood ritual and that keeps him busy for the time being. You continue to whirl next to him until he dies from the weapon’s damage and your bleeding effects. This tactic takes a few attempts, but it is a surefire way to defeat Mohg.

    Mage build with Azure’s Comet

How does the tactic work? Another easy option is to use a strong mage build that uses Azure’s Comet. You will need the following items:

  • Azure’s Shimmerstone Crown
  • Location: You can find it southeast of House Vulkan near the hermit village. Follow Sellen’s quest and collect the helmet and armor from the remains of Azur

  • Godfrey’s icon
  • Location: Defeat the boss in the Golden Family Tree Seal Prison
  • Jellyfish shield
  • Location: You can find it north of the Place of Grace “Foot of the Four Bell Towers” on a broken wagon
  • Lusat’s Shimmerstone Staff

  • Cracked Magic Veil Tear
  • Location: You can find it at the Lesser Earth Tree on Mt. Gelmir when you defeat the boss nearby. The tree is located east of House Vulkan.
  • Once you have everything together, all you have to do is pass through the wall of fog. Activate the Terra Magica spell and your jellyfish shield, then drink your bottle of the miraculous medicine. Now use Azure’s Comet and keep your eyes on Mohg as he runs towards you.
