The ardent hockey fan knows very well the rivalry between Timrå and Modo.
When some Timrå players were part of Musikhjälpen, they chose to challenge the rival club to raise money, which they quickly had to eat up.
“Some small club in Medelpad challenged us,” writes Modo on X.
This week SR’s and SVT’s joint major production Musikhjälpen is organized in Sundsvall. It is the first time that the program is broadcast from the northern coastal city. This year’s theme is “Everyone has the right to survive their pregnancy”.
Timrå collects money for Musikhjälpen
The local ice hockey association Timrå chose to participate in such a way that they started a collection bag and sent three players to the recording studio, a glass studio in the middle of the main square. Didrik Strömberg, Lukas Pilö and Jeremy Boyce represented the SHL club on site.
– I think Musikhjälpen is always important and now it’s in our city, it’s clear we want to show that we’re involved. It was a matter of course, says Boyce in the broadcast, reports the newspaper Örnsköldsviks Allehanda.

They were asked in the studio who their biggest rivals are and then they took the opportunity to challenge the SHL competitor to raise even more money.
– There is a team… it’s Modo, answer the Timrå players.
Modo’s pik against rival Timrå
Modo was not slow to replicate. Their post on X was actually quite fun too, you have to give them that. Regardless of club affiliation, it’s always fun with a little friendly banter, innocent banter.
“Some small club in Medelpad challenged us in the Musikhjälpen cage. Through a supporter initiative, there is now a MoDo bag that is open for gifts,” writes the club.
“How many minutes will it take before we MoDoiters catch up and pass?”, they continue.

We don’t know exactly how many minutes it took, but it has actually happened that Modo’s collection bag has overtaken Timrås. At the time of writing, there are over SEK 42,000 in the Modo bag and almost SEK 36,000 in the Timrå bag.
