Modo broke the clean sheet away from home, but it didn’t help much.
Brynäs won 5–2 and the SHL juniors now have six straight losses.
– There are many matches left. There is plenty of time to turn this around. We can’t just collapse and die, says team captain David Rundblad.
After nearly 150 minutes – around three and a half games – of ice hockey outside Örnsköldsvik, Modo finally got to celebrate the season’s first away goal in the SHL. In the middle of the second period reduced Johan Södergren to 1–2 away to Brynäs and less than a minute later set Måns Carlsson The 2-2 puck.
First away goals
Then it was the end of the fun for the SHL jumbo. Before the period was over gave Anton Rödin Brynäs lead and 4.37 into the third act extended Bobby Trivigno to 4–2. In the final stages, Modo took out the goalkeeper Olle Eriksson Oakbut the search for a reduction ended with Oscar Lindblom was able to score his second goal of the evening in an empty cage.
The loss was Modo’s sixth in a row and the seventh overall in this year’s SHL. The team is jumbo with just five points in seven games played. In the last six games, Modo has 4-23 in goal difference.
– We still do a lot of good things out there, but then there are obviously things we have to fix. We have to start winning games, says David Rundblad to TV4 Play.
