NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER has been modified with 26Gbps GDDR6X memory, making it faster than the RTX 4080.
TechLab and Paulo Gomes, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPERIt increased its performance by modifying it with 26Gbps GDDR6X memory. This modification achieved speeds that surpassed the RTX 4080.
Modded RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Became Faster Than NVIDIA RTX 4080
By increasing the memory of the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER to 26Gbps GDDR6X, TechLab and Paulo Gomes reshaped NVIDIA’s existing cards. It should be noted that this modification provides a significant increase in GPU performance. While this new graphics card from NVIDIA comes with 21Gbps GDDR6X memory modules as standard, replacing it with Micron’s 24Gbps GDDR6X dies has pushed the performance limits.
At an event held in Brazil, Paulo Gomes and the TecLab teams demonstrated the process of replacing the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER’s VRAM with faster memory and pushing them to their overclocking limits. “I must say, I would never do this myself… but I really like seeing modified graphics cards like this,” a comment that shows how exciting such modifications are.
Technical Details and Modification Process
NVIDIA was launching the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER graphics card with 21Gbps GDDR6X memory modules. However, when this card was modified with 24Gbps and even 26Gbps GDDR6X memory modules, there was a huge leap in performance. Performing this type of modification requires significant soldering, PCB and BIOS modifications. These operations are operations that ordinary users cannot perform and require serious experience and knowledge.
Even more remarkable is that these modifications were accomplished with stock cooling solutions, without using exotic LN2 (liquid nitrogen) cooling. GALAX and Manli branded RTX 4070 Ti SUPER cards managed to reach maximum performance on both GPU and VRAM dies, even when overclocked with standard cooling.
