MMORPG streamer of the year has been playing WoW since 2008, loses duel for Twitch guild against Noob, who has only been playing for 2 months

Chance “Sodapoppin” Morris (30) won the MMORPG streamer of the year award in 2024 and has been playing World of Warcraft for at least 17 years. But in a duel for the Twitch guild “OnlyFangs” he now lost to Tyler1, who has only been involved with WoW for a few months. He has to hear that from everyone now.

What connects Sodapoppin to WoW? The first documented recording of Sodapoppin playing WoW dates back to 2008. That’s when he started streaming World of Warcraft on the Xfire service at the age of 15. One can assume that he has played the MMORPG before.

In 2012 he moved to Twitch and has had a great career there over the last 13 years. The 30-year-old developed from a pure WoW streamer to one of the platform’s most successful variety streamers ever.

Since Blizzard announced WoW Classic a few years ago, Sodapoppin has been back in action. Most recently, he founded the streamer guild “OnlyFangs” on a hardcore server and has been more successful than ever since then. In 2024 he was even named “MMORPG streamer” of the year, which he clearly enjoyed because he was able to rub it in Asmongold’s face.

According to his own statement, he even turned down a huge deal to launch WoW Classic in 2018 because the game is so important to him.

Streamer loses duel against someone who has only been playing WoW for 2 months

Now this was his great shame: Sodapoppin died in a stupid pull in WoW Classic and lost his hardcore character in the process. Therefore, he also had to name the leadership of the guild. As a gag, he handed over the leadership of the guild to Tyler1. Although he is a popular streamer, he actually has nothing to do with WoW because he only played LoL for years.

When Sodapoppin leveled a new hero to level 60 in a marathon, he wanted his guild back from Tyler1, but he didn’t even think about leaving and instead challenged Sodapoppin to a best-of-9 duel.

But to his disgrace, Sodapoppin lost this duel for the guild leadership 4-5 against the newcomer to WoW.

Streamer has put many subs on Sodapoppin, is stunned by defeat

He has to listen to this now: New Zealand streamer Quin69 explained in a stream:

He disappointed me. He simply disappointed me. I believed in him. He was my warchief.

Quin69 says he bet a “ridiculous number of Twitch subscriptions” on Sodapoppin’s win because he found it inconceivable that he would “lose to a guy who has no idea what he’s doing.”

Tyler1 had to look at his keyboard to run back. The guy has been playing for maybe 2 months, but Sodapoppin has been playing WoW his whole life, since he was 15. Quin69 finds it inexplicable how on earth Sodapoppin could have lost this duel.

Quin69 is sure: Sodapoppin is just a total waste. “I don’t know what happened. He used to be good at the game. I don’t know if it’s his fucking VTuber girlfriend or what’s going on?”

His “fucking VTuber girlfriend” gave Sodapoppin hell after the loss, but even more so than Quin69, who is mourning his lost bet.

She accused him of wanting to lose to men like Tyler1. He “mentally destroyed him” and Sodapoppin liked it. Veibae even went so far as to ban Sodapoppin the “Bae.” For him, in the future she will only be called “Vei” – he has lost the bae. Twitch streamer first loses his guild in a duel in WoW, then his dignity and 430,000 watch

What do you think: How is it possible that someone who has been playing WoW for 17 years loses an important duel with the same gear against someone who has only been in the game for 2 months?
