A developer studio from the German Regensburg makes a new MMO with zombies. The studio for one of the first MMORPGs is known.

What are these developers? The developer studio from Regensburg is CipSoft, which is primarily known for the MMORPG Tibia published in 1997, which is still being supplied with updates today.

CipSoft is real MMORPG pioneers. Tibia is considered one of the oldest yet still playable MMORPGs over the years 32 million players and 200 million euros.

The new game from CipSoft, Persist Online (PC), does not rely on platforms orcs with magic. Instead, various firearms and nasty zombies make it out.

What kind of game will it be? “Persist Online” reminds a bit of extraction shooters like Escape from Tarkov, but relies on an open world that exists throughout, offers space for hundreds of players and allows you to enter every building. Likewise, you can take nodes in the open game world such as a sawmill with your guild that provides you with wood.

In addition from the Open World there is the so-called bunker, which is comparable to a social hub and offers you crafting options for making weapons and equipment. Outside the bunker you can meet zombies and other players who may be hostile to you. Overall, PvP should be a crucial factor in the gameplay.

However, you should not underestimate the zombies, because the further you will be more, the further you remove you from the bunker-and a death against the zombies can also be devastating, because a special feature of the MMORPG is the hardcore aspect:

  • In the event of death you lose all items in your inventory.
  • PvP is available everywhere on the map, except in the bunker
  • There are no mini card, but “Friendly-Fire”. So you have to be careful whether you shoot an enemy or not your teammate.

    • In order to defend you against the zombies and avoid such a tragic death, guns and melee weapons are available that have their own skill streak- the same applies to tools. You level the skill with a weapon when using the respective object and thus unlocks new skills. There is no fixed class system.

    Developers invite you to test: CipSoft announced in February that players can register for Persist online on the website of the game for Persist. You will then be part of a tester group that take part in planned play tests and get access to the game during a certain period of time.
