MMORPG on Steam wants to have the action in hand at all times with game masters, shows new gameplay in the trailer

Eternal Tombs is a new MMORPG on Steam that wants to score points with a special concept. Now the developers are showing for the first time in a new trailer how you will use magic in combat.

What exactly is Eternal Tombs?

  • The developers at Triune Studios want to create an old-school sandbox MMORPG that focuses on PvE
  • Eternal Tombs is supposed to score points with a special concept: real “game masters”, the so-called Tomb Masters, observe the behavior of the players and can constantly reprogram the game
  • Random events and an individual story are promised while you explore the open world with many other players
  • Eternal Tombs is intended to offer a number of features that make the gameplay interesting: open your own shop, unlock new areas, fight your way through various dungeons or lead entire war maneuvers
  • In a new trailer you can now see how you use magical attacks in this world and get a little insight into different areas of the game:

What does the trailer show? The trailer begins with a few images that give you an idea of the different areas you can expect in Eternal Tombs. You will see a desert city with large ruins or dark cellars and dungeon vaults.

These impressions are accompanied by a narrator who gives his son a few important tips on dealing with magic. He warns that you should never draw magic from yourself, but rather always use magical objects and draw the magic from them.

The description on Steam mentions that casting magic from within is considered evil in Eternal Tombs and is therefore not used. So players definitely rely on magical items if they want to cast spells.

For a game with game masters in the background, this could of course provide a certain twist if they could reprogram the magic items again and again. Whether this will actually be the case can only be said after the release.

After that, you’ll get a quick glimpse into a few different magical attacks. You can see fire attacks, but also ice and lightning attacks.

You don’t get much information from the short scenes. However, this is only a teaser trailer and since Eternal Tombs is still in the middle of development, we will probably have to wait a little longer for more information.

Nevertheless, the trailer of course shows that there are different types of magic and if you take a closer look, it also seems that magical attacks need a certain amount of preparation time.

What are the reactions? Reactions to the trailer (via YouTube) are quite positive and most players watching Eternal Tombs seem very excited for the release:

  • ttonygreybeard writes: “I can’t wait to get in and play… My armor is polished, my sword hand itches to chop up some flesh and spill some blood”
  • CombatMedicOps123 writes: “I hope this game actually comes out. All major gaming companies produce nothing but beautiful garbage.”
  • UpgradeLemonade writes: “I really love the art style of the game, every new video makes me even more excited”
  • User tienee4927, who was probably more critical of the other trailers, also wrote about this teaser: “I usually comment under these videos to point out problems and errors… I’m back here……… Nothing at all, sound was great, saw good looking and voiceover was in tune and sounded effective, as always I’m so excited about it!”

What do you think of the short trailer? What do you expect from the Game Master concept? Feel free to discuss in the comments.
