MMORPG for Elder Scrolls gives you some of the best story content from Tamriel

Years ago, the authors of Elder Scrolls Online told a great story across several chapters and DLCs. While the starting point in Morrowind has long been part of the base game, all Tamriel heroes can get the great middle part of the story for free in July.

What storyline is it about? The storyline is called the “Daedric War”. The first hints about the events of the story arc were already given in the DLCs Orsinium, Dark Brotherhood and Shadows of the Hist.

The plot really took off with the first chapter, Morrowind, which is now part of the Elder Scrolls Online base game. The Daedric war continued in the story DLC Clockwork City, only to end in an epic finale with the next chapter, Summerset.

The latest chapter is called Gold Road and takes you to the Western Plains. Here is the launch trailer:

So you could say that the authors of the MMORPG have already done, on a somewhat smaller scale, what Blizzard wants to do in the coming years with the next three WoW expansions of the World Soul saga. Or what Square Enix has done in a great way with the overarching story arc from Final Fantasy XIV to Endwalker.

Free trip to the city of clockworks

What’s free? In July, you can get the highly recommended Clockwork City story DLC mentioned above for free. To do so, you have to log into Elder Scrolls Online on two different days in July. That’s it!

The gift is part of the celebrations for the 10th anniversary of the MMORPG. You could already get the Thieves Guild DLC in April. But there was also an oasis as a home, a pig and much more.

There’s more! From July 2 to August 15, 2024, you can claim the Gold Road Recall custom promotion for free from the Crown Store when you complete the Champion of Vivec achievement. To earn the achievement, you must complete the Morrowind Chapter story arc.

In addition, you can earn seals if you complete the various endeavors via content from Morrowind and Clockwork City. For these, you have to kill leaders in open dungeons or complete the Halls of Fabrication.

A few days ago, MeinMMO editor Karsten Scholz had the opportunity to talk to Creative Director Rich Lambert about the past decade, criticism of the new chapter and the hottest MMORPG summer in many years – chief developers about the most important update of ESO: They were sure “that we will kill the game this way.”
