Mjällby’s supporter association is wound up: “Historically significant for the club”

Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

The company was started in the early 2000s by several Mjällby supporters to support Mjällby AIF both financially and to make it possible for the club to buy or loan players for their Allsvenskan venture.

Mjällby Support AB is now being liquidated, reports P4 Blekinge. The reason is that FIFA made a decision in 2015 to ban third-party ownership. And now that the company’s last player has left the club, they choose to close down.

– I think it is absolutely right that we wind down, a bit sad. I am very proud of everyone who invested money in Mjällby. But there is no other way forward and time has its place and we have to accept that, says Per-Ola Johansson, chairman of the board of Mjällby Support AB.

What have you meant to Mjällby AIF?

– We have meant a lot. It has given an extra kick in seeking out good players and thanks to us they have been able to connect with players they otherwise couldn’t get hold of, says Per-Ola Johansson.

The claim is cancelled

Since 2016, Mjällby Support AB has had a claim of SEK 1.1 million from Mjällby AIF. But it will now be deleted.

– All business between us and Mjällby (AIF) is cancelled. It was never meant to make any money.
