Mjällby turned and won – Nwankwo’s hero

Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

A goal and an assist from 18-year-old Silas Nwankwo after the clock ticked up to 85 minutes gave Mjällby the three points.

A Degerfors in the relegation zone had not won in six rounds. When the American Joseph-Claude Gyau was sent off after a headless tackle in the 55th minute, it looked like curtain.

But the Värmlanders shocked Mjällby, who found it desperately difficult to create scoring chances, with a lead goal.

Degerfors’ Dijan Vukojevic neatly placed a long-range shot behind goalkeeper Samuel Brolin.

In the end, Mjällby flashed on and Silas Nwankwo headed in the equalizer in the 85th minute before orchestrating Noah Persson’s winning goal three minutes later.

— We have had a period where we got better but didn’t get any points. This was perhaps a slightly worse effort, but we know that in the last twenty we are always dangerous, says Mjällby’s coach Andreas Brännström to Discovery+.

Mjällby lost Jacob Bergström after a tough duel where the 27-year-old was lying down holding his head. Bergström had only been on the field for three minutes and had previously been pulled with a concussion that kept him out of action.

— It got quiet in the arena and my body didn’t feel good. I think it’s okay according to the first reports I received, says Brännström.
