In swimrun, you compete two by two in a men’s or women’s team, or in a so-called mixed team where a man and a woman compete together. Amanda Nilsson, together with competition partner Adriel Young, has now made history for being the first mixed team to clinch a podium place.
The Swimrun WC was organized between Sandhamn and Utö in the Stockholm archipelago on Monday and involved a total distance of 75 kilometers. In total, Nilsson and Young came third with only two men’s teams ahead, and of the mixed teams that took part, they were the very best – with a margin of ten seconds.
