Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki made some statements about the difficulty of the game and the experience it gives to the players.
Souls games, which now create their own genre, are usually on the agenda with their difficulty. Although players who love the genre are familiar with this feeling of struggle, the number of players who quit the game because of this difficulty is also quite high. Although it is naturally open world, with the release of Elden Ring, this feeling of distress once again came to the fore. Elden Ring director Miyazaki, who sees this situation as the identity of the studio, made some statements about the subject.
Miyazaki spoke about the Eden Ring challenge
with the New Yorker site an interviewer Miyazaki made the following statements; “I apologize to anyone who feels that there is too much to overcome in my games. I just want as many players as possible to experience the joy of overcoming challenges. We are always trying to improve, but it is the challenge that gives meaning to the experience, especially in our games. It’s our identity. I think, ‘While playing these games, that’s the way I want to die – in a fun or interesting way or in a way that creates a story that I can share.’ Death and rebirth, trying and getting over it – we want this cycle to be fun. “Death in life is a terrible thing. It could be something else in the game.”
