Over the years, the search for the woman has been extensive both from the police, volunteers and voluntary organisations.
At the beginning of May this year, private individuals found remains in the forest and after an analysis by the Forensic Agency, the identity has now been determined.
It doesn’t feel funny that we haven’t found her in so many years. It’s hard to say why we didn’t find her, but it was very difficult terrain where she was found. It was some members of the public who found her, who were out in the woods. But it still feels good now that the family can get closure, says Emmy Truedsson, police inspector at the police in Katrineholm, to the newspaper.
The woman was 65 years old when she disappeared from her home in December 2012.
