Missing dining hall and classrooms – the principal on the need for a new school at Vallby: “The premises are not fit for purpose”

Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

In a long and narrow corridor at Norra Vallbyskolan, a cleaning machine and a book trolley stand along the wall. Annelie Aleson, who is the principal at the school, is looking forward to a new school with larger spaces and storage facilities.

– The premises we have now are not fit for purpose. Both schools in Vallby are old and need new premises, she says.

Furthermore, Aleson believes that a common school would facilitate cooperation as it would mean twice as many staff and that it would be better operationally.

– Currently, we are very sensitive to personnel losses. If a teacher is missing, there is no one who can handle it together with a substitute.

Concerns about a larger school

Something that many Vallby residents believe is a risk with a merger of the schools is that it will become a large school and the students will receive less help. It is something that Annelie Aleson sees no risk with. She believes that both schools are so small that it won’t be a big school and there will be twice as many staff.

SVT has been in contact with the principal at Vallbyskolan to hear more about their needs, but she has not wanted to be interviewed.
