Missing 30 temporary care workers in Leksand – forced to cut back on food handling and cleaning

It is a staff shortage that means the municipality has to cut back on services for almost two months, between June 19 and August 13. This is what the municipality writes on its website.

Regardless of the decision of the home care recipient, cleaning will only be carried out once at each customer during this period. Food delivery will also only take place once per week.

The municipality has been in contact with relatives about the changes.

“We have searched with candle and lantern for labor but now we are where we are. We are about thirty people short and need to act based on that to solve the summer’s challenges. Therefore, a number of decisions have been made in order to still be able to fulfill our mission towards all our customers”, writes Ulf Lilja, acting head of social affairs, on Leksand municipality’s website.
