Miss New Caledonia: Océane Le Goff’s fight against illness

Miss New Caledonia Oceane Le Goffs fight against illness

MISS NEW CALEDONIA. Elected Miss New Caledonia 2022, Océane Le Goff experienced bullying as a teenager. Affected by a disease, she wishes to promote the development of remedies against her thanks to her passage in Miss France.

[Mis à jour le 17 décembre 2022 à 20h10] On December 17, the cultural center of Mont-Dore, not far from Nouméa, welcomed eight candidates who dreamed of becoming Miss New Caledonia. Facing the jury and the public gathered on site, it was the young Océane Le Goff, 26 (she is one of the oldest candidates in the competition this year), who won against the other competitors. She therefore takes over from Emmy Chenin, who did not reach the top 15 last year. Océane Le Goff is a very active Miss professionally. Holder of a bachelor’s degree in management and commerce since 2018, she has set up her own childcare service and works in parallel as a customer advisor in the banking sector.

Participating in a beauty contest has not always been obvious to Océane Le Goff, who took a long time to get started, as she told our colleagues from Figaro TV Mag. “I was slow to get started because I had long been the target of teasing because of the color of my hair and it had made me lose confidence in myself during adolescence. Children are cruel to each other as soon as they ‘there is a difference.” Today, the young woman is very proud of the color of her hair and wears it proudly during parades.

Newly elected Miss New Caledonia 2022, Océane Le Goff suffers from polycystic ovary syndrome, a disease that causes hormonal imbalances and can compromise fertility. With TV Mag, the young woman explained to fight against this disease for ten years already. “It concerns one in seven women, 2.5 million French women, it’s not negligible. I was diagnosed at the age of 16, it’s a menstrual disorder, a hormonal imbalance, which can be accompanied many symptoms such as fatigue, pelvic pain, acne, excessive hairiness, hair loss… Symptoms vary from woman to woman.” Very committed to this cause, Océane Le Goff should take advantage of her passage on the stage of Miss France 2023 to raise public awareness about this still little known disorder.
