MISS MARTINIQUE. Since the creation of the competition, no Martiniquaise has had the chance to be elected Miss France. Axelle René carries the hopes of her entire island to finally win the grail of the coveted scarf.
[Mis à jour le 12 décembre 2022 à 14h00] It was on September 24 that the election of Miss Martinique 2022 ahead of the national Miss France 2023 contest. The election evening took place in Fort de France and opposed candidates dreaming of treading the stage in Châteauroux, the city chosen to host the Miss France 2023 contest. of Miss France last year, Martinique hopes for nothing less than a coronation next December. And so it was the young Axelle René who was chosen to represent Martinique in the competition.
Aged 21, Axelle René is a Master 1 student in geosciences and planetology at the Sorbonne. “During my three years of license, I had the opportunity to visit the country, to open myself to all these landscapes. I would like all French people to take the time to admire around them and to savor the lucky that we have to live in such a beautiful country” explained the young woman from Robert during her election. After the Miss France parenthesis, Axelle René wishes to “become an actor of development” in geology skills in Martinique, in particular to study the island’s volcano and the petrification savannah which is located in the south of the island.
In her free time, Axelle René likes to travel and has one devouring passion: music. The young woman taught herself the piano and the guitar, which allows her to accompany herself on vocals. Sporty, the Miss practiced mountain biking a lot, which gave her many opportunities to be in communion with nature. Thanks to the Miss France contest, she hopes to be able to spread her values and honor her project: to help young people set goals and give themselves the skills to achieve them.

Miss Martinique is a beauty contest which aims to elect a candidate for the Miss France contest each year. Several young women apply in the hope of becoming the ambassador of their island. Since the creation of the national competition, no Miss Martinique has been elected Miss France.
- Floriane Bascou : In 2021, Martinique had gone very far during the Miss France election. Floriane Bascou could dream of obtaining the crown of Miss France since she ranked second in the national competition. Floriane Bascou was Diane Leyre’s second runner-up.
- Sephorah Azure: In 2020, it was Séphorah Azur who paraded with the scarf of Miss Martinique during the Miss France 2021 election. Then aged 23, the young woman had been elected in Fort-de-France. After growing up in the town of Schoelcher, she obtained a literary baccalaureate and began studying psychology. At the time of her participation in the national competition, she was in her third year of license. During the national competition, Séphorah Azur unfortunately did not rank in the top 15.
- Amber Bozza: Ambre Bozza, was elected Miss Martinique on October 4, 2020 in Fort de France. Aged 21, Ambre Bozza was a second-year art school student. She did not rank during the Miss France 2021 election.
- Olivia Luscap: Olivia Luscap is the Martinican candidate for the Miss France 2019 election. At only 18 years old, Miss Martinique 2018 was already planning to create her company in the food industry, although she was only in the second year of preparatory class in biology . She did not rank in the Miss France 2019 election.
