The candidates for the title of Miss France 2025 are still preparing for the competition organized on Saturday. Behind the scenes, a haunting almost never leaves them…
The election of Miss France 2025 is approaching, it will take place on Saturday December 14, at Futuroscope in Poitiers, with a live broadcast on TF1. Each year, the beauty contest gives rise to an enchanting spectacle, but also to several strong moments and a few discomforts. The hiccups and misadventures of the candidates are part of the game and are even the most anticipated sequences of the evening for some viewers (and that’s really not very nice).
For Miss France candidates, it is therefore necessary to manage the stress of the competition, but also the anxiety of the slightest slip-up, which can transform the dream into a nightmare. Among the most feared moments, there is obviously the speaking of the first misses selected during the evening. You will have to present yourself without stammering and manage to stand out without falling into ridicule. But that’s not the only balancing act of the evening.
The other fear of candidates? Falling in the middle of a parade in front of millions of viewers. During the preparation trip to Ivory Coast in November, the candidates were trained to walk like a beauty queen, without failing… or almost. As written The Parisianit was Maeva Coucke, Miss France 2018, who took charge of the “masterclass” on the “catwalk” (the art of parading like a top model), advising one to “work on the little foot ” or the other to “transfer all the weight to the back leg”. As you have to smile and seduce constantly, the former Miss France also advises to spot the cameras and let go from time to time by making a grimace once off-camera. “But don’t make a mistake to avoid a gag on camera!”
“It slips a scene from Miss France…”, also warns Maeva Coucke. So to avoid falling, all means are good! She recommends non-slip patches under the heels. But some candidates go further and are even ready for anything, as the Figaro TV last year, like those who lace up their soles to slip less or, better, coat them with wax, honey, or even Coca-Cola to better adhere to the ground.
Another popular technique: put hairspray on the legs to give a satiny look, but above all avoid static electricity which will make the dress stick to the legs. “On the stairs on stage, you will be told not to take the dress up the steps while holding it, don’t listen. I did it and I still won. It’s better than to be on all fours and to have fun on Twitter”, also asserts Maeva Coucke.
And to prepare for any eventuality, the Miss France candidates even practiced falling and getting up, but always with class, “legs parallel, closed”, so as not to “show a piece of panties”. Maeva Coucke, once again, is well placed to give advice: during the Miss Universe competition in 2019, she fell while slipping on a jewel that fell from a costume and remained on the ground. She will still finish 6th runner-up.
