Miss Martinique was elected Miss France 2025. Winner, Angélique Angarni-Filopon was also the oldest of the competition. But she is even more than that. Here are 10 things to know about the beauty queen…
Miss Martinique was named Miss France 2025 on the night of Saturday December 14 to Sunday December 15, 2024, at Futuroscope in Poitiers. Angélique Angarni-Filopon won the majority of the jury’s votes, while the public voted in favor of Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais, her first runner-up. For the first time, it is a 34-year-old miss who is elected, the oldest candidate to win the competition, Miss France not having to exceed the age of 24 a few years ago. Angélique Angarni-Filopon was also the oldest of the competition in 2024.
When the moment of the coronation came, it was in tears that Angélique Angarni-Filopon received her crown and her sash, the very first for Martinique, from the hands of the outgoing Miss France. “It’s an honor to stand in front of you. When I won the Miss Martinique competition, I told the people of Martinique that we were going to do it together. And we did it together! Thank you!” she exclaimed, overcome with emotion. The new Miss France was then attacked by her comrades, who came to hug her.
If her age, her short hair or her tall height (she measures 1m83), allowed her to stand out and have been widely commented on, here are ten undoubtedly more interesting things to know about Miss France 2025.
1- The real detail that made Miss Martinique win
There is a magnetic beauty, an imposing size, a natural class, a confident gait… But during the election of Miss France 2025, Miss Martinique above all marked the spirits with her ease and her naturalness. oral. When the Miss France candidates had a minute to introduce themselves in the middle of the ceremony, Angélique Angarni-Filopon did not waste the time allotted to her. She scored points from the start by nodding to her age, but also to the length of her hair, as Eve Gilles did last year.
At the very end of the show, Miss Martinique had to respond without preparation to a question from an Internet user and explain why Miss France appealed so much to the French. And she did it brilliantly. “I think that Miss France pleases the French as much because in each of us here, I am certain that each person will be able to recognize themselves. From the most dynamic, to the most joyful, to the funniest, to the most smiling, each one made this experience an extraordinary experience And I think that through your screens, this is transmitted. We really all have different profiles and I think that more and more, the Miss France competition aims and tends to. show this difference and to show that precisely, we have voice and maybe that’s why the French like us so much.”
2- Miss France 2025 transformed a disadvantage into a strong point
How did Angélique Angarni-Filopon manage to be so serene and at ease in front of the cameras, the thousands of people gathered at Futuroscope and the millions of viewers? Guest on TF1’s 1 p.m. show the day after her coronation, she provided the beginnings of an answer, believing that her age was ultimately an asset in the competition. “Probably,” replied Miss France 2025. “I have gained maturity and I express myself better than at 20. I have a lot more confidence,” she explained.
“I feel very good about my age, I get along very well with people aged 19 and 77. So I really see that as an advantage,” she also declared before the competition. A strength for the rest of his adventure, and the media whirlwind that goes with it.
3- Angélique Angarni-Filopon gets high for a good part of the year
A professional flight attendant, Angélique Angarni-Filopon began her career as a sales advisor at Air France, before following training at the AeroSchool. She then joined the cabin crew at Air Caraibes then at Corsair. An already busy professional career for this ambitious thirty-year-old. And this experience undoubtedly also helped her to express herself without misstep during the ceremony.
“When we do safety demonstrations, we have 372 eyes on us,” she laughed. This role of representing flight attendants, often ignored or derided, will also be a big asset for her mandate as Miss France! At the microphone of Anne-Claire Coudray, she assured, serenely: “I feel it, it will be fine”.
4- Her father and her origins also weighed in the election of Miss France
Although Angélique Angarni-Filopon was born in Martinique, she did not grow up on the island. His grandparents still live there, and the place has been the setting for most of his vacations. But she grew up in Val d’Oise, in Vauréal. During the competition, she nevertheless expressed the wish to represent Martinique. But Miss France 2025 also owes a lot to her past in mainland France and to her family.
During her coronation, Angélique Angarni-Filopon attributed her ease and naturalness to her father. “He did a lot of politics, he was elected in the town where I grew up, in Vauréal in Val-d’Oise. He is a man with very good eloquence, he trains police officers, he is ex -retired chief brigadier He taught us to manage quite well,” she explained.
5- As a child, Miss France 2025 experienced mockery
This is another sign of maturity, even if this ordeal is a real scourge. To the Parisian before her coronation or on TF1 just after, Miss France 2025 spoke about a painful childhood, marked by mockery. “I was never the most beautiful. Even the least beautiful. I had braces, my teeth were very forward,” she said. And added: “I was very little until fifth grade, and with these front teeth, they called me little pony.”
Miss France says she then “grew up so much in 6th grade that there were no pants to [s]has size”. Angélique Angarni-Filopon has therefore already been confronted with harassment. Her size, her age, her origins, her short hair… We bet that she will be able to deal with the “haters” who have started to unleash themselves on the networks, as for Ève Gilles, Miss France 2024, targeted before her “Today, I am a great woman and that is a source of pride”, she has already warned.
6- Miss Martinique didn’t believe it when she became Miss France

Before delivering an amusing anecdote about the precise moment of the coronation: “She said to me: ‘Pinch me to see if I’m dreaming!’ So I pinched her!”, laughed the competition director.
7- Angélique Angarni-Filopon had already participated in the competition, without success
Elected Miss France at the end of 2024, Angélique Angarni-Filopon was not, however, in her first beauty contest. Fourteen years earlier, at the age of 20, she had already presented herself to Miss Martinique, winning the sash of first runner-up. His return to the competition and his victory are great proof of resilience.
“In 2011, a young woman aged 20 finished first runner-up in the Miss Martinique competition. Today, it is this same young woman aged 34 who stands before you to once again represent Martinique, its diaspora as well that all the women who were told one day that it was too late”, declared Angélique Angarni-Filopon while introducing herself to the jury and the viewers on the evening of the ceremony.

And it’s not just the removed age criterion that weighed in the balance for Miss France 2025. Tattoos are now authorized. And Miss France 2025 has a small tattoo on the crook of her left arm and another, the infinity symbol, on the inside of her wrist. Another more visible detail, like Eve Gilles, she has short hair, hair that she cut two years before the competition. On her Instagram account, she explained in 2018: “Whether they are relaxed, colored, natural, super long or super short, it’s about knowing which cut YOU feel best in.”
9- Does Miss France 2025 have a boyfriend?
Asked by a journalist from Télé-Loisirs about her love life, Angélique Angarni-Filopon responded without letting herself be destabilized. “You won’t know!” And added with a smile: “I don’t want to mix work and private life.” We will just know that she has an older brother who is a delivery driver, another brother who is a police officer and a sister who is also a judicial police officer.
Miss France 2025 still admitted to Le Parisien in November that she had experienced depression following a romantic breakup. She also indicated that she did not have children.
10- The commitment of the new Miss France
On the stage of Futuroscope in Poitiers, the new Miss France underlined her commitments. There is ecology and Martinique, which she will defend throughout her year of reign. “I would like to help women who are victims of breast cancer. Makeup and hairdressing help me gain self-confidence so it can also help them take care of themselves and reveal their beauty after the illness,” she also said. An equally personal commitment, since his mother suffered from this type of cancer, the most common in women.
