Major deficiencies in animal husbandry were discovered at a farmer in Falköping in 2016. It took eight years before a new inspection was carried out, which led to the farmer being banned from keeping animals, reports P4 Skaraborg.

– It is, of course, very serious, says the county board’s head of function, Johanna Karlsson, to the radio.

During the inspection in 2016, lean, dirty and sick cattle were discovered – deficiencies that were remedied, according to Johanna Karlsson. As late as 2023, the farm was checked again and due to serious irregularities, the farmer was banned from animals.

– Since we cannot be with all animal keepers every year, we will run into deficiencies that have been going on for a longer period.
