Many have asked themselves how high Armand Duplantis can jump.
If you ask the AI, that height will land at 6.51 meters.
Now Swedish expert Miro Zalar is striking back against that claim.
Swedish world star Armand Duplantis is absolutely unstoppable in pole vaulting these days. He has dominated the sport for many years and seized all the gold medals recently.
Mondo’s dream height
So far, there have been a total of eight world records for the 24-year-old, and the very latest one came in the Chinese city of Xiamen in April. Then “Mondo” jumped an incredible 6.24 metres, but he is not satisfied with that and is chasing new heights in the future.

Many wonder how high Duplantis can really reach and if there is a ceiling to his record jump. The Swedish Olympic Committee, SOK, has used advanced AI technology to find an answer to that question.
Zalar strikes back
In a truly unique project, AI has analyzed height, weather, conditions and trends to come up with the number 6.51 meters. It is therefore 27 centimeters that Armand Duplantis still has to reach during his pole vaulting career.
– It really sounds like a dream height. Jumping 6.30 is my next big goal, but why stop there when I can strive for even more, says Mondo himself in a press release.

He still seems to think that it is entirely possible to reach the height of his dreams. But the Swedish athletics expert Miro Zalar is of a completely different opinion and is now fighting back against the AI project.
– I don’t think it will be possible, he tells Radiosporten.
– Things will happen along the way, and besides, he has to stay right for so long. Much of this fact that they produced is that they compared to previous world record holders and when their peak came. As a pole vaulter, you’re at your best when you’re around 30, but I think they’re missing something here.

There is a special thing about Duplantis in particular that the AI has missed, Zalar asserts. Namely, that Mondo has held onto a stick for a full 20 years now.
– Because no one else in the world starts pole vaulting when they are four years old, says the expert to the radio channel.
– It’s a huge difference and these centimeters only get longer and longer the higher you go. It will be tough, but of course I hope I’m wrong.
