It was when Mio Axelsson was walking his usual route, under the Bragebron in Kalmar, to school with his friends on Thursday morning that he first saw the Ikea box. He took a quick look at it but thought it was rubbish and a kebab roll.
Held it in his hands
But when he then went the same way home in the afternoon, then with his mother Jessica Axelsson, they took a closer look at the box. Jessica then picked up the “kebab roll” and discovered that it had a stub.

The police were alerted and the National Bomb Squad attended the scene and the object was later determined to be sharp.
“Am actually angry”
– I’m actually angry, if I’m honest. To go on and play with people’s lives in this way, says Jessica Axelsson.
For Mio, it was a late evening with many thoughts.
– But now I know that it is in safe hands with the police, so then it’s not quite as scary anymore, he says.
