In the fifth Saturday finale of “Idol” the theme is “jury’s choice”. The theme means that all four jury members have had to submit their song proposal per participant, anonymously. The participants have then had to choose one of the songs to perform in the fifth Saturday final. Which songs the idols choose to sing is a secret until the broadcast.
Minou Nilsson says that she was looking forward to the theme, until she saw the song suggestions that the jury had chosen for her.
– Then I wasn’t as happy. I love the jury, but it felt like someone had “shuffled” on Spotify. I couldn’t see myself in any of the songs, and I have a hard time seeing how anyone else could see me in them either, she says.
“A lot is at stake”
To TV4 Nyheterna, jury member Katia Mosally says that she believes that some of the participants will be surprised by the song choices, but emphasizes that it is an important challenge for them. Minou Nilsson understands that, but still feels confused about the songs she had to choose from.
– The jury knows their stuff, but you don’t know what they’re thinking. I just felt “huh? Have you chosen this for me?”, she says and continues:
– There is so much at stake, so you really want it to feel good every week. But I’ve tried to make the best of the situation, and feel they’ll have the hell to explain what they mean on Saturday.

Margaux Flavet: “Became very stressed”
Contestant Margaux Flavet was also unhappy with the songs chosen for her.
– I didn’t like any of the songs they chose, so then I got very stressed. They didn’t suit me in any way, and had almost no connection to my voice or genre, she says.
For Saturday’s final, she has chosen the song that she thought felt “perfectly okay”, she says.
– It’s not that terrible. It’s just terrible because it’s hard to get certain notes, and it gets a little hard for me. I would have preferred something more jazzy or soulful.
