Russia froze the accounts of Finnish embassies earlier in the spring.

– We are currently trying to resolve the situation, the foreign policy institutions of both countries are working, said the Russian Embassy in Finland in a media interview.

In the interview, the Russian diplomats point out that it is still too early to talk about concrete timetables and solutions that would please both parties.

The Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ communication tells that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to investigate the matter with the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

– Further information on the freezing of accounts or a response to Finland’s note has still not been received from Russia, said the content and communications expert of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Petra Sarias.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Transport Pekka Haavisto (green) said earlier that the freezing of the embassies’ accounts became apparent on April 27. At that time, Finland sent a note to Russia about the matter, i.e. a written question or communication to another country.

This is how Haavisto assesses the consequences of freezing bank accounts on May 17:
