Emphasizing that they have strengthened the cyber shield with domestic and national applications within the Information Technologies and Communications Authority (BTK), Minister Karaismailoğlu said, “The National Cyber Incidents Response Center (USOM) monitors the critical infrastructures of our country instantly and continuously. In this context, cyber attacks targeting institutions and organizations in our country “While there were 118 thousand 470 cyber attacks in 2020, this number decreased to 84 thousand 113 in 2021. We will continue to strengthen the cyber shield day by day with domestic and national applications.” made its assessment.
TURKEY’S CYBER SITE IS ENCOUNTERED TO USOM AND SOMES
Karaismailoğlu noted that cyber incident response teams (SOME) are on duty 24/7 under the coordination of USOM in order to protect institutions and critical infrastructure sectors.
Karaismailoğlu informed that the cyber security structuring shaped as USOM, sectoral SOMEs and corporate SOMEs currently protects the cyberspace of the country with a total of 2 thousand 74 SOMEs and 6 thousand 99 cyber security experts registered to the SOME Communication Platform operated within the USOM, within the scope of USOM studies, 130 He emphasized that over a thousand malicious connections were detected and checked, and access was blocked at the infrastructure level.
Karaismailoğlu also stated that more than 30 thousand cyber security notifications were forwarded to the relevant institutions and organizations by the USOM, and necessary measures were taken.
KASIRGA, AVCI AND AZAD ARE VISIBLE AGAINST CYBER ATTACKS
Pointing out that the increased use of information and communication technologies during the Kovid-19 epidemic brought security problems, Karaismailoğlu stated that additional measures were taken in this context.
Pointing out that the infrastructure is monitored instantly in order to ensure continuity in the communication infrastructure, Karaismailoğlu gave the following information:
“In addition to the measures taken, KASIRGA, AVCI and AZAD applications, which are based on machine learning and artificial intelligence, have been vigilant against cyber attacks in this period. In this context, by the end of 2021, threats were written to detect the fakes of the most known conference applications in threat intelligence studies. 750 fake conference applications were detected and necessary actions were taken. Especially in relation to the increase in the remote working method, remote management services were scanned, and a total of 46,784 vulnerabilities related to these services and their interfaces were detected, and the Cyber Communication Platform was sent to the relevant public institutions and organizations. Necessary warnings were made via (SIP) and in an official letter. By using artificial intelligence, scans were also made for domain names related to the Kovid-19 virus. A threat intelligence report related to Kovid-19 was published via SIP, 133 malware investigations and 612 malware information shared. In addition, 2 thousand 975 harmful droppers (viruses) and command and control centers related to Kovid-19 were blocked.
