The possible cancellation of the ferry connection is causing a lot of fuss in the municipality of Stichtse Vecht. The ferry is an important link for cyclists. Schoolchildren, commuters and holidaymakers use it on a daily basis. The alternative, a detour route over the Breukelerbrug, is not an acceptable solution for the municipality because it is not safe enough and costs too much extra travel time.
