Miners are trying to sell their graphics cards, which they stack a hundred times. Gamers warn against buying such GPUs.
A short 20-second video was posted on reddit: Here you can see hundreds of graphics cards carefully stacked on the floor. These are graphics cards that were used by miners until recently. Scalpers would not take the graphics cards out of the packaging and thus reduce the value of the GPUs.
Many also say that one should not buy these used GPUs in order not to support the miners’ greed. On top of that, the graphics cards are stacked on top of each other without packaging, which can scratch and damage the GPUs.
We have included the short video here for you with reddit. By the way, this comes from the TikTok channel Techzone_Import:
Miners have been trying to get rid of their graphics cards for months
What is the current situation? These images are not necessarily new. Because a few months ago, desperate miners tried to get rid of their graphics cards.
The most important reason is the significant drop in value of cryptocurrencies. If you look at Bitcoin in the last 6 months, the value of over 40,000 euros per Bitcoin has fallen to almost 20,000 euros in the last few months. In the meantime, the price has stabilized again and is just under 25,000 euros.
The currency has nevertheless lost almost 50% of its value. Because the value of Bitcoin, Ethereum and Co has been falling for months and has long since passed its high of 2021.
Many now hope to at least limit their losses and are therefore selling thousands of graphics cards. To do this, some used some pretty nasty tricks and tried to sell their worn-out GPUs as new, causing some astonishment.
Many are therefore wondering whether you can buy graphics cards from such a mining system. Because the prices are often very low and for many the normal prices are still too high. Because an RTX 3080 for 350 euros is still very tempting for many players:
Miners are now mass-selling GPUs for really cheap – Should you buy AMD and Nvidia graphics cards now?
