Two museums located in historical homes in Chatham-Kent are gearing up for another season.
The Milner Heritage House in Chatham and Ridge House Museum in Ridgetown both will open from June 1 to Aug. 27.
Visitors are invited to explore Milner Heritage House, located on the corner of William Street North and Murray Street, on a self-guided tour of what life was like in 1905.
For the first time since 2019, no registration will be required to visit the Ridge House Museum, located at 53 Erie St. S.
Guided tours are available to see what life was like in 1875.
“Get creative in our hands-on interactive space, the Discovery Den, as you make crafts, bake a cake in our play kitchen or build a rainbow on our light table,” a media release said.
This year, the museum has partnered with the Ridgetown Horticultural Society to update the gardens, added the release.
“Visitors will now have the opportunity to learn about plants and landscapes native to our area.! Come for a tour and leave inspired by the beauty of our local ecology.”
The project was made possible through the support of Golden Alexander’s Native Plant Nursery and the Ridgetown Home Hardware.
Both museums will be open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm with extended hours to 7 pm on Thursdays.
Admission is by donation.
