COVID. The circulation of the Covid in France is such that the number of contaminations exceeds 260,000 new cases per day. New screening centers will open to support the action of caregivers.
- This Monday, January 10, 2022, the coronavirus epidemic in France is circulating very actively: over the last 7 days, the average of new cases per day amounts to 265,837 cases. Several million French people have contracted the Covid since the beginning of January. The detailed report can be found on this page, updated every day, devoted to the Covid figures in France.
- The increase in cases of contamination worries those in charge of healthcare services. “300,000 cases, that’s what we detect, there are probably twice as many, some patients are not detected, it is difficult to get tested. […] Hospitals are under water, the months of January February will be very complicated, with non-Covid patients who cannot be treated, “said Dr. Philippe Juvin (elected LR) on CNews this Monday morning.
- Given the great contagiousness of the virus and the multiplication of cases of contamination and contact cases, the tests carried out have exploded. To meet growing demand, screening centers will open near vaccination centers, and pharmacies will be able to create their own center and recruit health professionals.
- The examination of the text of the law establishing the vaccination pass in France begins this week in the Senate. The government intends to implement this new pass in the week of January 17.
- From Monday January 10, the curfew in place in Guadeloupe begins at 8 p.m. instead of 10 p.m.

As a reminder, the incidence rate corresponds to the number of new cases of Covid-19 over a period of one week, compared to the total population of a territory (country, region, department or municipality). This indicator is generally expressed in number of cases per 100,000 inhabitants. The screening rate gives the number of people who have tested for the coronavirus out of the total number of inhabitants, during the period. It is also expressed most often on 100,000 inhabitants. Finally, the test positivity rate gives the percentage of positive tests for the coronavirus, compared to the total number of tests carried out over the period.
